Catching Up: Meet Bacon

I have this insatiable need to catch the internet up to my life as of lately before I share recipes. So much has happened the past couple of months, I feel this blog wouldn't be a "personal" one without it. So here's part two: Meet Bacon.

So, it's funny that it's taken almost until our dog's first birthday to introduce you, but nonetheless, World-- meet Bacon.

After months and months of endless begging, trips to see puppies "just for fun" and nearly crying every time I passed a dog, Brooks finally caved.

Less than 48 hours after my father's cancer diagnosis, we found ourselves in a pet store, "just to cheer me up." It took less than 2 minutes of holding this long-tongued, smooshy-faced angel until Brooks looked up at me and said, "Alex, is this our dog?"

...and into the cart he went. The past seven months with this little hellion have been stressful for a number of reasons, but he really hasn't been one of them. Many would say that a stressful emotional time is not one to buy a dog, but he's alleviated way more stress than he has caused.

Bacon snores like his dad, snorts like a pig, and loves to eat as much as both combined. Like his momma, he's not always super excited about exercising.

Most importantly, Bacon values the most important thing in life, and he spends most of his time dedicated to it:

So there's Bacon in a nutshell. Look forward to part III -- our wedding!
